European Championships - Bratislava, Slovakia

There's only a few days to go before Stan Wozniak and Harry Mansbridge fly out to Slovakia to represent England in the European Championships.

Early on Thursday morning (4.30am), Stan and Harry will be waiting at the airport to catch their flight to what will be a very memorable occasion for both of them.

Thank-you to everyone that supported this event. It was a great success and an event that we intend to have again in the future.

Black belt Grading (Colney Heath) 24/9/11

Congratulations to Stan Wozniak who was promoted to 2nd Degree and Chris Geddie (12) who was promoted to 1st Degree.

Both students have been working hard in the build up to their grading with Master Anderson (VII Degree). Master Anderson commented on how well they performed and was pleased to announce their result at our annual competition last Sunday (2nd October).

We are pleased to announce, that Master Anderson will be conducting our first 'Masters Seminar' for Herts TKD students.

This seminar is open to all Yellow belts (8th kup) and above. However, there is also a minimum age of at least 8 years old.

Session 1 - 11.00-12.30pm (Cost £15)
This session is for Yellow belts and above.

Lunch break 12.30-1.00pm

Session 2 - 11.00-3.00pm (Cost £25)
This session is for Green belts and above.

If you are interested in booking a place, please contact your instructor.

European Taekwon-Do Championships - 2011 (Slovakia)

Congratulations to Stan Wozniak and Harry Mansbridge (15) for being selected to represent England at the forthcoming European Championships in Slovakia (20-23rd October).

Both Stan and Harry have been training hard with the England Squad at weekends and have just been notified of their selection.

This is a fantastic achievement and we wish them all the best in their preparation and during the championships.

Another great day was had by many who attended the Herts TKD Team event on Saturday. This was our second year running this event and proved even more successful than last year. As this was so successful, next year we will move to a larger venue to cater for the growing number of competitors and spectators.

For 14 years we have been running an 'A' Team event between Colney Heath TKD and Spirit TKD. The 'A' Teams consist of 5 competitors of different grades and ages but matched as best as possible.

Herts TKD Team Competition - 11th June 2011 (Colney Heath)

Preparations are well underway for our second Herts TKD Team Competition. Last year proved a great success and we are pleased that we are able to organise another competition this year.

If you haven't entered a Team Competition, don't worry. This is an excellent opportunity to enter a smaller Team competition before trying one of the larger one's available to enter.

For the majority, the event will consist of Patterns. Each team will consist of 3-4 members.

For the more experienced, Pre-Arranged Sparring is also an option. Each team will consist of 2 members.

The main event will be for the 'A' teams from Spirit TKD and Colney Heath TKD. Each team will consist of 5 competitors. Pattern and Sparring events will be organised and different competitors maybe selected for either event.

Cost: £8/event or £20 for 3 events

Please be informed of our forthcoming annual competition to be held on

Sunday 26th September

Venue: Greenwood Park, Tippendell Lane, Chiswell Green, St Albans, AL2 1HW

Time: 10.00-5.00pm (approx.)

For those that have never entered a competition before, this is a great opportunity to put your skills to the test before entering one of the larger competitions available.

The competition will have three categories for you to enter; Patterns, Sparring and Special Technique (U16) or Power test (16+).

Please complete and return all entry forms, together with the entry fee, as soon as possible.

If entering the sparring category, all competitiors must wear the appropriate sparring equipment. All sparring equipment can be purchased from your instructor.
